Locally built and carrying 30 marvelous crew, most from the region, this elegant ship was inducted into the Relais & Châteaux group, recognizing its commitment to local nature and culture, and its exquisite Amazonian-Peruvian cuisine.

The ship is sustainably furnished, featuring hand-made furniture and art and textiles from the surrounding communities that are supported by our guests.

Choose from four categories of large suites aboard: the singular Andes Suite, measuring 597 square feet, with 180-degree windows at the bow to take in the surroundings; two corner Amazon Suites; 10 Upper Suites; and 8 Suites, with en suite facilities, comfortable chair and desk.

	Amazon Suite - Main Deck (MS) Amazon Suites measure 270 sq.ft. and feature floor to ceiling windows for stunning views of the passing scenery. Includes two twin beds that can convert to a king-size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, large window, comfortable sitting area with sofa. Bathrooms are spacious with a large shower, and large mirror vanity.
	Andes Suite - Upper Deck (OS) The Andes Suite measures 597 sq.ft. and features a king bed with breathtaking views of the expansive river through forward-facing, 180-degree floor-to-ceiling windows. Amenities include bedside tables with reading lamps, comfortable sitting area with sofa. Bathrooms are spacious with a large shower, and separate bathtub and large mirror with double vanity.
	Suite - Main Deck (SU) Suites on this deck measure 237 sq.ft. and feature floor-to-ceiling windows for stunning views of the passing life along the river. Includes two twin beds that can convert to a king-size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, large window, comfortable sitting area with sofa. Bathrooms are spacious with a large shower, and large mirror vanity.

To get where we are today, we drew upon decades of family exploration and travel experience. While some fathers pass on a family business with a sign out front, my father handed down a passion for insatiable curiosity when it came to the unknown, the faraway or the undiscovered. He was in the true definition of the word, an explorer.

In the years that followed, the sea became increasingly more important, leading up to the present, where it is our entire focus.

In the early '80s', we expanded our charter activities, which were very successful. There was one drawback, however. We had became very demanding and it became increasingly frustrating in not having total control of our ships. In 1987, we launched our first ship, the M.S. Polaris, and for a decade she roamed the world from the Arctic to the British Isles to the Amazon. Since 1997, she has served our guests exclusively in the Galapagos. It was with the Polaris that many of us really cut our teeth. We were proud and very happy with the ship and what we could do with her, but at the same time, every problem was now ours and in the early stages there were no shortages.

Since then we have acquired five additional ships, Sea Lion (89), Sea Voyager (90), Endeavour (96), Sea Voyager (00) and our most recent ship the islander.
